Minnesota youth underwent reconstructive surgery after farm accident

A 10-year-old girl in Minnesota who had survived a farm accident three years prior had undergone numerous reconstructive surgery procedures to treat her face, a September 19 article published by Eyewitness News reported.

Reports said the young girl, Amber Rose Kordiak, had her face severely injured after she was involved in an accident at the farm in July 2013. Her injuries were so serious that Amber Rose’s father thought she would not make it after the metal rim of a 600-pound tractor tire struck her face. The mishap left Amber Rose with a disfigured face that many hospitals thought was irreparable. However, after three years, a team of reconstructive plastic surgeons believed they could treat Amber Rose. After many hours inside the operating room, one of the doctors expressed optimism in the outcome of the procedure. Amber Rose is expected to undergo follow-up procedures to refine the appearance of her face.
